Exciting times at Ashley Grange as we welcome new manager Kay

It’s all change at Ashley Grange Nursing Home in Downton, Wiltshire, as we are thrilled to welcome Kay Jerrams as the new home manager.

Kay, who is equally thrilled to be with us, brings a wealth of experience in both nursing and care home management. She started her career as a nursing auxiliary aged 18 at Andover’s then cottage hospital. She moved to Germany, and on her return to the UK in 1989, she enrolled on a nurse’s training course at University Hospital Southampton.

After qualifying as a nurse, Kay left the NHS and took on several roles within care including the position of deputy care home manager, running her own care home agency, and then working for a charity as a peripatetic manager, regional support manager and operations manager.

Kay says: “I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone at Ashley Grange. This is an exciting time of growth and change for the nursing home and I know that as a team, we can achieve so much in making it a wonderful place for our residents.”

She joins us at an exciting new phase of Ashley Grange’s major refurbishment with the reopening of the new-look dining room. The dining room is part of a communal area which includes a cosy lounge, a nurse’s station and an extensive kitchen space.

The beautiful new furniture in the dining area ensures that Ashley Grange’s ladies and gentlemen can now dine in style and comfort. The use of the new bain-marie ensures that a restaurant-style dining experience can be enjoyed by all. Chefs have been using the new kitchen hot plates next to the dining room to ensure everybody has a lovely lunch.

As well as the communal room, there is a new luxury lounge area where residents can sit in comfort and the individual bedrooms are being redecorated to a very high standard.

At Ashley Grange, we are always on the lookout for friendly, caring and passionate people to join our team. If you would like to find out more about the exciting career opportunities now available at Ashley Grange, please visit our careers page
