Hartford Care Covid-19 update

Latest update from Sean Gavin, CEO of Hartford Care – 14th September 2020.

At Hartford Care, we continue to work with local authorities and follow guidance from the Government to ensure our homes and residents remain safe during the pandemic whilst, at the same time, focusing on the wellbeing of our residents.

Our amazing team members continue to work tirelessly to deliver exceptional levels of care and maintain high levels of infection control. As a result, we are currently seeing minimal disruption to our services due to COVID-19 and our teams continue to do everything they can to ensure residents feel safe and continue to enjoy their lives by putting them at the heart of everything they do.

Our fantastic, wider support team is also working closely with our homes to ensure the most recent government advice is in place, adapting how we work as needed, and making sure training is delivered to all team members. Along with regular distribution of Personal Protective Equipment and regularly carrying out risk assessments, they are focusing on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our residents, your loved ones, is priority.

We have introduced garden visits where it is safe to do so, which have proven to be of great benefit to our residents and their loved ones. We understand some of the measures we have put in place may not be what our families and loved ones are used to, but we appreciate and thank our families for their understanding and for following these measures, which helps us to keep those living and working in our homes safe.

We are mindful of the concerns over local spikes and national restrictions on care homes but are doing all we can to keep people safe in line with current guidance. We have a whole home testing approach, with staff and residents tested regularly, and have robust infection control measures in place including plenty of PPE. With your understanding, we will continue to review and update our visiting policy as necessary and in line with guidance, and will communicate any changes or updates to you as quickly as possible.

We are currently embracing different ways of communication between residents and their loved ones. With Skype, Facetime and other social media platforms, we are finding great ways to keep in touch with families and loved ones, and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding during these times.

We are confident we are doing all we can to keep our homes are safe. If you or someone you know is looking for any care or support, either now or in the future, please do get in touch with us – we are able to welcome new residents, whilst ensuring the continued safety and wellbeing of those already living with us.
