Hartford Care Covid-19 update
Latest update from Sean Gavin, CEO of Hartford Care – May 2021
The health, safety and wellbeing of our residents, staff and visitors within our homes remains our absolute top priority. We are continuing with our stringent measures in response to Covid-19 and following the Government guidance to ensure everyone’s safety, whilst providing a happy and fulfilling home for all.
We are delighted the latest guidance means we can now offer increased visiting into our homes. Residents will now be allowed 5 named visitors, with a maximum of 2 people visiting at any one time.
As always, our teams will be on hand to facilitate all visits safely. Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) and temperatures on arrival will remain with us for some time and we hope you understand the need for this. You will also be required to wear face masks in all communal areas at this time.
We would kindly ask that you still let us know of your intention to visit, to allow us time to make sure there is a member of our team available to support you with any testing and to guide you to people’s rooms. For the time being, visits will remain in the person’s bedroom or allocated lounge but, as the weather improves, we will look to facilitate socially distanced garden visits where possible.
Official guidance for care home visits can now be found at: www.gov.uk/government/news/more-restrictions-eased-for-care-homes
We are so happy that this day has finally come, and we can move forward safely, and start to rebuild those distant relationships of the last year. Who knows, but before too long we would hope to get back to our summer BBQs and wonderful garden events!
We continue to welcome new residents into our homes whilst ensuring the continued safety and wellbeing of those already in our care. We are following robust screening measures which include testing residents prior to admission and an initial short period of self-isolation – which is in accordance with Government guidelines. For further information about this process, please contact the home directly.
If you or someone you know is looking for any care or support, either now or in the future, please do get in touch with us. We are happy to show you around our wonderful homes by way of a virtual tour and can discuss your thoughts, concerns, or queries via a phone or video call.
We continue to test both our residents and our team members on a regular basis. PCR tests are used every 28 days for residents and every week for staff. In addition, staff are tested twice a week with Lateral Flow Tests. These tests ensure any positive tests are identified much earlier and allow us to respond quickly to be certain we do everything we can to reduce the risk of Covid-19 being transmitted within our homes.
Our amazing team members have continued to work tirelessly throughout the pandemic to deliver exceptional levels of care and maintain high levels of infection control. All our safety protocols are carefully monitored and reviewed on a regular basis and adapted in line with current guidance.
We cannot praise our teams enough for their dedication and devotion. Our residents are at the heart of everything they do, ensuring they feel safe and happy whilst enabling them to enjoy a fulfilling life during these challenging times.
We would like to thank you for your continued understanding and ongoing support throughout this difficult time and look forward to welcoming you back into our homes.
