We are extremely proud of our close ties within our communities; we are committed to ensuring that our homes are actively engaged with their neighbours, and with the people who live and work in the villages and towns where we are located.

Our commitment to community outreach interlinks with our company ethos of ‘creating caring communities’; our philosophy of care is underpinned by creating places that are friendly, kind and welcoming of everyone, caring for each other and celebrating individuality by recognising that everyone needs something different to thrive – and this isn’t just pertinent to the community inside our care homes, but our wider neighbourhoods too.

Corporate Responsibility

As an organisation, we feel responsible for connecting our homes to surrounding communities and deliberately work with local businesses where possible. We also invite people into our homes, donate to local charities, support food banks, and sponsor local initiatives.

Sustainability

We are committed to building a sustainable future, continuously investing in our homes and improving our green credentials. Sustainability is key to our growth strategy, and we’ve already invested over £8 million to help reduce our carbon footprint and futureproof our homes.

Hartford Care likes to build strong links with all communities associated with our care homes. Part of this is sponsoring local businesses, charities, community groups, sports teams and venues, and even high-end events like music festivals and Christmas markets!

Dream Big, Live Big

Dream Big, Live Big has been rolled out across Hartford Care’s 21 homes, giving residents the opportunity to turn their dreams into reality. Dream Big, Live Big has no limits, no instructions, just a sprinkle of imagination. All our team members at Hartford Care are working hard to help those who live with us to do something special. It proves that with a few conversations with the right people, we can achieve something amazing.

Community Events

We often link events in our homes to calendar events. It’s important to remember the majority of our residents continue to reside in the same places where they’ve previously lived, so if they were a part of the community before, then they still should be now. Our residents generally like a busy, vibrant community and we offer a range of different activities and events in our homes, such as visits from local nurseries, visiting entertainers, and friendship groups, meaning people can decide on what they’d like to take part in for themselves, and there’s truly something for everyone.
