At Hartford Care we place great emphasis on recruiting people who share our passion, commitment and values and who are dedicated to putting residents at the very centre of all that they do. Our people are what makes the Hartford Care difference!
I’m Sean Gavin – Hartford Care’s CEO. A Chartered Accountant by profession, I joined the business in 2000 as Finance Director, when it was primarily focussed on the motor industry.
Shortly after my arrival, we made a strategic decision to move the business away from motors and made our first venture into the care sector. I am one of the founding shareholders and directors of Hartford Care, which was incorporated in 2003.
Since then, I have tried to build a great team who are focussed on making a positive difference for each of our residents and staff members. We believe that life is for living and try to facilitate this to the greatest extent possible.
My focus continues to be on growing and shaping Hartford Care into the unique care provider it is today. I believe it is paramount that our core values of Care, Comfort and Companionship remain central to everything we do.
Hello! My name is Jo Gavin, and I began my career in care when I joined Hartford Care in 2004. Throughout this time, I have carried out a variety of training in relation to Health and Social Care, but none more important than working ‘on the floor’ in various roles within our care homes. My qualifications include NVQ 4 and Registered Managers Award.
As Brand Director, I am very proud to be part of the Hartford Care family, whose values put our residents first, and provide Care, Comfort and Companionship to all. Our aim is for all our residents to live happy and enjoyable lives, with the emphasis on ‘living’ within our homes. My role focuses on our culture and values which I explore with our teams, along with the vision of Hartford Care – why we do what we do and how we can ensure our residents lives are stimulated, active and enjoyable.
I joined Hartford Care in March 2019 and I am responsible for the accounts and payroll team. I began my career as a Chartered Accountant and now have over 20 years’ experience as a Finance Director. My career has spanned a range of sectors but since 2011 I have specialised in the health care sectors, having previously worked for two residential mental healthcare providers; St Andrews Healthcare and Cambian Group Plc.
I am very passionate about our core values of Care, Comfort and Companionship and our ‘home from home’ ethos which resonates across the whole group.
Hi I’m Vicki, I am the HR Director at Hartford Care. I have been in HR for 11 years and during that time I have held various roles, but most recently I spent the last 7 years at a senior level within Carnival UK (P&O cruises and Cunard). HR was always a natural career choice for me as I love the variety it brings; no day is ever the same. I especially love enabling people to reach their potential and help make a difference for all my colleagues.
Outside of work I love to travel, spend time with my husband and enjoy countryside walks with our two dogs, Annie and Willow.
Hello, I’m Emma, and I joined Hartford Care back in 2017. I originally trained as a nurse, but over the course of my career, I have worked in a variety of care roles, moving from carer to management including working as a peripatetic manager before taking on my role here at Hartford Care as Regional Director. During my 20 years in the health care sector, I have worked within various disciplines including working with elderly people, those with learning disabilities and the mental health service.
I love being part of the Hartford Care family, working alongside caring, dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who really do want to make a difference by providing the very best care, comfort and companionship to our residents and making our homes great places to live
When I’m not working, I can be found running around after my husband, our 3 little girls and our little Cavachon puppy.
Hi, I’m Nicky, and I have worked for Hartford Care for just over three years now and prior to that I worked for a larger care provider for over 20 years. I have worked in various roles throughout my carer starting as a support worker (many moons ago) and I was a Registered Manager for a number of years before becoming an Operations Director. I absolutely love working for the Hartford Care family, and I have a real passion for person centered care and I believe the Hartford Care values resonate this – ensuring that not only our residents are put at the heart of everything we do, but that all of our team members are well looked after and feel valued.
