An outstanding care home in Portsmouth. A beautiful, purpose-built 64-bed care home, Hartford Court provides personalised residential, dementia, and respite care in the heart of the city of Portsmouth. Our home incorporates traditional English décor, set off to perfection with nautical touches inspired by the city’s proud naval heritage. Attention to detail in the interior design has ensured that it is as practical as it is inspiring, allowing our residents to take full advantage of the functional yet comfortable surroundings, in which to live their lives as independently and positively as possible.
UPDATE: at Hartford Care, we’ve been making some home improvements to all of our existing properties and Hartford Court has benefited from the following investments. Creation of four new ensuite bedrooms, decoration of all communal areas and corridors, new airconditioning units for communal spaces, new furniture throughout the home, new artwork throughout the home, and new garden furniture. Our facilities team will continue carrying out improvement works to all of our existing homes in such a way that residents are disturbed as little as possible. As always, our goal is to improve the lives of our residents by increasing comfort, activity options, and happiness.

With its fully accessible and enclosed landscaped garden, patio areas, sun terraces and raised flower beds, our outdoor space provides great scope for various enjoyable activities. Each of our 64 generously proportioned en-suite bedrooms is elegantly decorated and fully furnished and most of them benefit from an abundance of natural light. Throughout our home we have several spacious lounges, dining rooms, and lifestyle kitchens as well as tranquil seating areas, a library, a salon and a shop - all of which have been tastefully decorated to provide luxurious and homely living spaces.
Things to do around Hartford Court
Around Hartford Court, there is a wide variety of places to see and activities in which to partake. We have close links with the local community including a book exchange with a local library, regular visits from a local nursery school, outings to South Parade Pier and Southsea seafront for tea dances and visits, concerts at Portsmouth Guildhall and church services. We also enjoy a close relationship with the University of Portsmouth and welcome visitors from across its departments. The busy Gunwharf Quays shopping and leisure complex is less than three miles away and The Isle of Wight can be easily reached by ferry for a day trip.
