An outstanding care home in Woodlands. Woodlands House is a truly elegant residential home providing personalised residential, dementia and respite care in its own extensive grounds and beautifully landscaped gardens, located in the rural village of Woodlands which nestles in the peace and tranquility of the New Forest. The home has been sympathetically extended, retaining all of its original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for its residents.
UPDATE: at Hartford Care, we’ve been making some home improvements to all of our existing properties and Woodlands House has benefited from the following investments. Decoration and carpeting to lounge and reception area, creation of two new ensuite wet rooms, extensive M&E plant replacement, decoration and new carpets in nine existing bedrooms. Ongoing works include- decoration and new carpets to all communal areas and corridors, a new hair salon, decoration and new kitchen within staff accommodation, new artwork throughout the home, and installation of solar panels. Our facilities team will continue carrying out improvement works to all of our existing homes in such a way that residents are disturbed as little as possible. As always, our goal is to improve the lives of our residents by increasing comfort, activity options, and happiness.
Our fully trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home, who ensure our residents are not only safe and well cared for, but are also happy and contented. With a full schedule of activities, entertainment and outings to cater to everyone’s taste, our residents can live their lives as independently and positively as possible.

Woodlands House is steeped in period charm, yet filled with modern facilities and a warm and compassionate environment. Our secluded grounds and easy access gardens provide great scope for numerous enjoyable activities or a space where residents can sit, relax and watch the world go by. Each of our 38 en-suite bedrooms are generously proportioned, newly decorated and fully furnished, complete with a flat screen digital TV, telephone point and 24-hour call bell. Our grand hallway, spacious lounge, relaxing library and bright dining room provide a variety of communal spaces to create the perfect family home.
Things to do around Woodlands House
Woodlands House is conveniently located, close to local amenities including supermarkets, local shops, cafes, pubs and garden centres which we visit with our residents on a regular basis. We also have access to a minibus for our numerous outings which include trips to the beach, Hatchet Pond or perhaps a drive through the New Forest. At Woodlands House, we’re well connected to our local community, and have built good relationships with our local parishes, constabulary, schools and nurseries - all valuable resources for visits to our home - and a great way for our residents to remain engaged with the local neighbourhood.
