"I have worked at Victoria Lodge for 11 years in August. I have progressed within my roles due to my hard work and dedication to the residents, staff, and families within the home, always happy to learn new things and take on new challenges. Working in care provides numerous fulfilling and challenging experiences, this provides personal and professional growth within the team. I enjoy giving our residents time and comfort to support them through days they feel lost, to sit and listen to them, giving reassurance that makes them smile and feel they are listened to, which makes a huge difference. Ensuring our residents are happy and supported each day, improving their quality of life and always treating them with dignity, building relationships, and becoming a trusted companion, someone they feel safe with, makes our hearts burst. I enjoy working as part of a team, and everyone’s knowledge is different. Sharing this with other staff can have a good impact on their next shift, as they can always relate back to what they have learnt. There is always the opportunity to develop within the care setting and learn new things. Working as a team is to always support each other to keep up good staff morale in team building sessions working together and better communication."

Our Facilities

Victoria Lodge offers 63 bedrooms, each with views over the gardens. Residents can personalise their rooms with photos, ornaments and small pieces of furniture from home. There is a large communal lounge for group activities, smaller sitting areas for quieter moments, and three lounge dining areas where residents can enjoy meals in a more intimate setting. A fully equipped hair and beauty salon is available on site for a bit of everyday pampering. The activities team plans a full programme of things to do, from music and crafts to gentle exercise, games and social events. The secure gardens have level paths and plenty of seating, giving residents a peaceful spot for fresh air, sunshine and time with visiting family.
