Hartford Care’s Cotswolds Rise care home in Purton, Swindon is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Highworth Town Walking Football Club for the 2025/2026 season.

Formed in 2018 by a group of passionate Swindon-based players, Highworth Town Walking Football Club offers both competitive and recreational walking football for men and women aged 50 and over. The club currently plays in the Wiltshire FA Walking Football League and the Gloucestershire FA Walking Football League, while also taking part in friendly competitions and tournaments throughout the year.

“We are delighted that Hartford Care’s Cotswolds Rise care home has sponsored us for the current season. It’s great to be and to stay active in our older years. Many of our team play for fun and other enjoy a more competitive game, but we’re always welcoming new people to join us.”

Free Community Events at Cotswolds Rise This October

Cotswolds Rise is inviting residents to take part in a range of free community events throughout October, perfect for families, children, and older adults alike:

  • Saturday 11th October (10 am–3 pm): Purton Village Community Carers Information Event
  • Thursday 16th October (6 pm–7:30 pm): Meet the Neighbours Evening
  • Monday 27th October (11 am–12:30 pm): Halloween Decoration Making
  • Tuesday 28th October (11 am–12noon): Dinky Ponies – meet some friendly, furry friends!
  • Wednesday 29th October (2 pm–4 pm): Halloween Cinema Screening of Coraline (with free popcorn and drinks)
  • Thursday 30th October (11 am–12:30 pm): Halloween Biscuit Baking
  • Thursday 30th October (6:30 pm–8 pm): Halloween Bingo
  • Friday 31st October (11 am–12noon and 2 pm–3 pm): Pumpkin Carving Fun

Cotswolds Rise is also a proud drop-off point for the Swindon Food Collective, a local food bank helping reduce the impact of food poverty across the area. Donations from the community are warmly welcomed.
