At Hartford Care, we believe exceptional care starts with a confident, compassionate team and a transparent, person-centred approach. Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections are more than a regulatory requirement; they are a chance to showcase the quality of life in our homes and give families confidence in the care we provide.

So far in 2025, five of our care homes have welcomed CQC inspections. We’re proud to share the initial feedback from Cotswolds Rise care home in Swindon, Harlow Hall care home in Aldershot and West Cliff Hall care home in Hythe, Southampton, each demonstrating our unwavering dedication to quality, kindness and community. Here we reflect on the experiences of our teams, how they prepared, what made the inspections a success, and what this means for current and future families choosing Hartford Care.

West Cliff Hall: A Shared Sense of Purpose

The inspection at West Cliff Hall care home in Hythe, Southampton was described by the team as collaborative and supportive. While inspections can naturally bring nerves, the team pulled together with confidence and professionalism. Inspectors were approachable, and staff felt proud to highlight their everyday work.

What stood out:
  • Strong engagement between inspectors, residents and staff
  • Clear evidence of teamwork and preparation
  • A confident and supported team throughout the process
In the words of the team:

“Be open, be honest and be ready. Inspections can happen on any day, so it’s about showing the care you deliver every day, not just when someone is watching. Confidence shows competence.”

Cotswolds Rise: A True Reflection of Our Values

Cotswolds Rise care home in Swindon achieved a ‘Good’ rating across all five Key Lines of Enquiry. This well-earned result is a testament to the dedication, consistency and values demonstrated by the entire team.

What went well:
  • Residents’ routines continued as normal, always prioritising comfort
  • The team confidently shared their compassionate approach and high standards
Team reflections:

“The key to success is not perfection, it’s being open and responsive. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how we learn and grow.”

Harlow Hall: A Positive Experience from Start to Finish

At Harlow Hall care home in Aldershot, the inspection was embraced as a valuable opportunity to reflect, grow and celebrate a thriving, caring home. Residents, families and staff all played an important role in painting a genuine and positive picture.

Highlights included:
  • A warm welcome and uplifting atmosphere praised by inspectors
  • Positive feedback from families about the care their loved ones receive
  • Staff demonstrated strong awareness of their roles and responsibilities
Advice from the team:
