Congratulations to Emma Davis, the deputy manager of Hartford Care’s Springfield Nursing Home in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, who is celebrating being declared a Healthcare Hero.
Emma is one of the winners in the inaugural Healthcare Hero Awards. The Awards were launched by global property adviser Knight Frank to recognise outstanding people within the social care sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hartford Care nominated Emma for the Healthcare Hero Award. She was praised for her commitment and dedication throughout the pandemic to the busy nursing home.
“Even though she has some vulnerable family members, she came in every day with a positive attitude and rallied others to do the same,” Hartford Care says.
Emma was also commended by Hartford Care for her work on its Care Practitioner Development Programme, sharing her personal knowledge and skills with others, despite the current challenging circumstances. One of her team graduated as a care practitioner in September.
She was presented with a special Healthcare Hero Award and a Fortnum & Mason hamper by Knight Frank.
After relocating to the Isle of Wight in 2018, Emma became deputy manager of Springfield Nursing Home in Arthurs Hill, Shanklin in January last year.
Emma says: “The award is incredible, and it just shows how well we have all managed during this very difficult time as it has been a whole team effort. I feel very blessed to receive the award and to be recognised by the company. I am very grateful to Knight Frank for the beautiful award and hamper.
“I love the team here and working with such a supportive manager. I love seeing the residents enjoy activities and lunches which have really kept them going during lockdown. I love meeting and talking to our residents.”
Sean Gavin, Hartford Care’s Chief Executive Officer, says: “Emma lives and breathes the Hartford Care ethos and values every day, and we are immensely proud of her and all that she does. Thank you, Emma for everything you do at Springfield and for Hartford Care.”
Julian Evans, Head of Healthcare at Knight Frank, commented: “We are thrilled to acknowledge the amazing people that work within the social care sector, this year more than ever.”
He adds: “Our Healthcare Heroes Awards showcase those inspirational individuals who have been undertaking exemplary work in the most difficult of circumstances and have recognised some richly deserved winners.”
