Carer holding hands with resident for end of life

End Of Life Care

At Hartford Care, we truly believe everyone deserves the right to dignity, individuality and respect – and this is even more important as someone approaches the end of their life. All of our homes provide end-of-life care and our priority is to offer the highest level of care, comfort and companionship, 24 hours a day.

Especially with care at the end of someone’s life, it is important that all aspects of life are considered – including spiritual beliefs, personal interests and care preferences. We ensure our residents and their loved ones are given the opportunity to make decisions and express their wishes right up until the very end of their lives. We want our residents to feel secure in the knowledge that they will be comfortable, and their wishes will always be considered.

Our dedicated and highly skilled team of carers will always provide a person-centred approach whilst delivering the very best care. With assistance from our local GP and District Nurse teams, we carefully manage symptoms and pain to help the person live as comfortably as possible, ensuring their passing is dignified, in a place and manner of their choosing.

Within Hartford Care we work hard to ensure our residents not only have a ‘good life’, but also a ‘good death’. Our end-of-life care is about our commitment to care and ensuring a good departure. Emotional support is so important at this time, not just to our resident but to those closest to them too. We understand this is a very difficult and challenging time for everyone involved, but we will be here for you, every step of the way.

“For anyone who is approaching the end of their life, we will always strive to do everything we can to ensure they pass away with dignity, respect, and without pain, according to their wishes”

Katie Dixon, Home Manager of Woodlands House
