Respite Care

At Hartford Care, all of our homes offer respite care for those who may need a short break.   There are many reasons as to why respite care might be a suitable solution for you or your loved one, these may include:

  • The need for just a short break from managing at home, alone
  • A period of care to recuperate after surgery or an illness
  • The need for a safe place for individuals to stay whilst full-time carers take a little break themselves
  • A trial period to discover what life is like living with us

What to expect

Anyone who comes to stay with us is welcomed into our homes and treated as part of the ‘Hartford Care Family’.  You or your loved one will benefit from the same care, comfort and companionship that all our permanent residents receive. And as with all our care, those staying with us – even for a short period of time – will receive a tailored plan of care, based on individual needs.

At Hartford Care, we offer something for everyone:

  • The opportunity to make new friends in a very sociable and friendly environment
  • Explore new hobbies and interests. With a packed schedule of activities, we have something for everyone to enjoy. Our activities include sensory experiences, arts and crafts, exercise classes, musical activities, cooking,  and gardening.  We regularly arrange days out, pampering session, plus there are regular visits from various children and animal groups
  • Join us for lunch and experience delicious and nutritious freshly prepared meals in our beautiful, social dining rooms
  • Unwind in our comfortable home-from-home surroundings, whilst safe in the knowledge that you or your loved one will be well looked after
  • Receive the care, comfort and companionship you deserve from our experienced Home Managers and their dedicated team

“Respite Care provides the perfect solution for anyone living alone and in need of a little bit of extra TLC, additional support, or even some help recuperating from an illness or injury. It’s also a lifeline for full-time carers who deserve a little break but want the reassurance their loved one is in safe hands and well cared for”

Michelle Presdee, Home Manager of Hartford Court
