Mayor of Winchester unveils new £5 Million extension at Tegfield House Care Home

We are delighted to share that Tegfield House, our CQC-rated Outstanding care home in Winchester, has officially opened its brand-new £5 million extension, marked by a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Sudhakar Achwal.

Located on Chilbolton Avenue, the extensively renovated and thoughtfully designed extension includes:

• A beautiful new dining room with a lifestyle kitchen
• A spacious lounge overlooking landscaped gardens
• A modern hair salon
• A tranquil new courtyard
• 15 additional en suite bedrooms with contemporary interiors

This exciting development not only enhances the home’s facilities but also further supports our mission to create a warm, empowering, and homely environment for our residents.

A Celebration with the Winchester Community

The opening event welcomed members of the local Winchester community, as well as residents, families, and staff. Guests enjoyed live music, delicious refreshments, and exclusive guided tours of the new facilities.

Speaking at the event, Mayor Councillor Sudhakar Achwal shared:

“It was a pleasure to be part of this special occasion and an absolute honour to officially open the new facilities at Tegfield House. The new courtyard and renovated spaces are absolutely beautiful. It was heartwarming to meet residents and witness the dedication and warmth of the staff.”
