Hartford Care was proud to bring the Southampton community together on Thursday 3rd July for a joyful evening of celebration at its newest care home, Moorhill, located on Moorhill Road in West End, Southampton. The event marked a special moment ahead of the home’s official launch later this month.

The prizegiving evening celebrated the very best of Southampton, honouring winners from Hartford Care’s local photography competition and Community Fund, two exciting initiatives designed to support and highlight the local area.

A Celebration of Southampton’s People, Photography and Passion

The community across Southampton were invited to enter original photographs capturing what they love most about the city. With a fantastic array of entries showcasing everything from local landmarks to natural beauty, the judges had a tough task ahead.

Supporting Local Heroes: £1,000 Community Fund Winner Announced

Earlier this year, Hartford Care also launched its £1,000 Community Fund, created to empower and uplift local groups, charities, and individuals making a positive impact. With many inspiring applications received, the judges selected Monty’s Community Hub as the recipient of the grant.

Monty’s stood out for its creative and collaborative approach to community building. The hub provides a welcoming space where local people come together to share skills, offer support, and deliver activities for children, young people, adults and families alike. Its work reflects Hartford Care’s vision of Creating Caring Communities, both inside and outside the walls of its care homes.

Local Talent on Display: Art Students Create Lasting Impressions

In a heartwarming partnership with Southampton College, the event also featured the unveiling of three beautiful artworks created by the college’s talented art students. These pieces will now be proudly and permanently displayed within Moorhill, adding a touch of local creativity to the home’s warm and welcoming interior.

“Huge congratulations to our wonderful winners! With so many inspiring entries and applications, it was truly difficult to choose. We are thrilled to support such a vibrant local community, and Monty’s Community Hub is a shining example of the kind of meaningful work we’re proud to champion.”
