An action-packed October for the community to enjoy at Alton Place and Belford House

Hartford Care is bringing the community together this October with a series of exciting and inclusive events at two of its Hampshire care homes: Alton Place and Belford House. Both homes are extending a warm invitation to local families, friends, and neighbours to join in free activities, talks, and seasonal celebrations designed to connect people of all ages.

Community Fun at Alton Place, Alton

Located on Winchester Road, Alton Place is opening its doors to the community with an action-packed month of free events. From family-friendly sessions to half-term fun for children, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Upcoming Events:
  • Tuesday 14th October, 10:30 am–12 pm (noon): Alton Tots – play, learning, and laughter for little ones and their families.
  • Thursday 16th October, 10 am–12 pm (noon): Community Coffee Morning – enjoy a friendly catch-up over coffee and cake.
  • Wednesday 29th October, 7 pm: Planning for Later Life with Matthew Jones – a helpful talk offering practical advice on future planning.
Half-Term Highlights:
  • Monday 27th October, 2 pm: Halloween Wreath Making
  • Tuesday 28th October, 11 am: Pumpkin Carving
  • Wednesday 29th October, 2 pm –3 pm: Wild Science – meet fascinating animals up close.
  • Thursday 30th October, 11 am: Kids’ Cinema – Goosebumps Movie
  • Friday 31st October, 3 pm –6 pm: Halloween Party

 

Home Manager Gurmeet Uhbie shares:

Alton Place provides residential, dementia, day care, respite, and end-of-life care across 67 en suite bedrooms. The home features a cinema room, café, hair and beauty salon, lifestyle kitchens, and beautifully landscaped gardens, all designed to offer residents a fulfilling and social lifestyle.

 

Community Spirit at Belford House, Four Marks

Just a short drive away, Belford House on Lymington Bottom is also preparing to host its own series of warm and welcoming community events.

On Tuesday, 14th October at 3 pm, Dementia Friendly Alton will visit the home to host an insightful talk about dementia. Offering guidance on supporting loved ones living with the condition. Belford House Dementia Talk Poster

Later in the month, Belford House will launch its new Cosy Lunch Club. A monthly event held on the last Friday of every month, starting Friday 31st October, 12 pm (noon)–2 pm. Guests can look forward to a tasty meal, great company, and live entertainment, all free of charge.Belford Cosy Lunch Club 

Home Manager Sadie Greenough says:

“Our Cosy Lunch Club is all about bringing people together. It’s a chance to enjoy delicious food, laughter, and friendship in a relaxed setting.”

Belford House, set in a peaceful countryside location, recently underwent a major extension and refurbishment. With ten new en-suite wet rooms, redecorated communal areas, and a modern hydro spa bath, the home combines comfort with luxury. It provides residential, dementia, day care, respite, and end-of-life care, creating a caring community where everyone feels at home.
