Three intrepid Hartford Care team members braved the elements recently when they took part in a charity bike ride in aid of Shelter, our chosen charity for 2024. Lisa Sellens, Regional Operations Manager at Hartford Care, Keeley Pitman, Deputy Manager at Woodlands House care home in Southampton, and Shane White, Maintenance person at Woodlands House, all donned their lycra and raised £600 in total.
Setting off at Hartford Care’s Bethel House care home in Barton on Sea, the trio rode through Bashley, Sway, Brockenhurst, and Beaulieu to a pit stop at West Cliff Hall care home in Hythe. They then continued to Woodlands House in Woodlands, Southampton, before reaching their final destination of Ashley Grange care home in Downton, Salisbury, cycling just over 42 miles in total.
Keeley Pitman, Deputy Manager at Woodlands House, says: “It was a very tough day! The weather wasn’t particularly kind to us, but we ploughed on and completed the ride to support Shelter. The work they do has such an important impact in tackling homelessness and provides invaluable support to those in need, so we were thrilled to be able to contribute to this wonderful cause.”
