We have four big events going on across our homes this October. It has been a busy year at Hartford Care so far, we released an article previously which summarised all of the improvement and extension works we planned to carry out and these plans have been progressing all year long.
Three of the events happening in October are to celebrate new extensions at our homes Belford House in Four Marks, Springfield in Shanklin IOW, and Malden House in Sidmouth.
Belford House is inviting visitors to tour the home, see new extended bedrooms and communal areas, whilst enjoying delightful refreshments and meeting the team and residents. The ten new bedrooms offer neutral, modern interiors, ready to be personalised, and all have en suite wet rooms. The open day will take place on Thursday 10 October from 11.30 am until 3.30 pm, for more information, to confirm your attendance at the open day, or to book an appointment to view, contact Belford House, Lymington Bottom, Four Marks, Hampshire, GU34 5AH, or to RSVP for the open day, call 01962773588 or email monika.katinas@hartfordcare.co.uk
Hartford Care is also inviting the local community of Shanklin, Isle of Wish to celebrate the launch of the newly-built extension at Springfield on Tuesday 15 October from 11 am until 2.30 pm. The Mayor of Shanklin, Councillor Sara Sheath, will be in attendance to cut the ribbon for the official opening. There will be live entertainment, prosecco afternoon tea, and an opportunity to tour the home, including the new 16 en suite wetroom bedrooms, two new lounges, and hair salon. For more information, to confirm your attendance at the open day, or to book an appointment to view, contact Springfield Nursing Home, 26 Arthurs Hill, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, PO37 6EX, call 01983862934 or email: springfield.admin@hartfordcare.co.uk
Malden House meanwhile will be opening its doors on an ongoing basis to host a Carer Suppor Group, every third Wednesday of the month, the next being Wednesday 16 October, from 11 am. Attendance is complimentary and everyone is welcome, including those being cared for. The group offers local carers the opportunity to take time out for themselves and focus on their wellbeing, a place to share experiences, information and advice and connect with others in similar situations, along with providing a safe and confidential space to speak freely and feel heard. For more information, or to join us for the Carer Support Group at Malden House, 69 Sidford Road, Sidmouth, Devon, EX10 9LR, please call 01395512264 or email tabitha.donovan@hartfordcare.co.uk.
Lastly, Cotswolds Rise Care Home in Swindon is sponsoring a similar Carers Community event which is taking place at Cricklade Town Hall, Swindon. The event is taking place on Saturday 26 October from 10 am until 2 pm, and is in association with Wiltshire Council. The event will host over 15 support organisations and community groups, offering face-to-face advice and support for carers and their families. Tea, coffee, and cake will be on offer at the complimentary event. The Carers Community event will be held at Cricklade Town Hall, High Street, Swindon, SN6 6AE.
