We are proud to announce that Hartford Care won two awards at the Kent Care Awards 2026 in September.

Sharon Williams, Activities Co-ordinator at our Hawkhurst House care home in Cranbrook, won the runner-up award in the Residential Care Worker of the Year category. Sharon was recognised for delivering outstanding support and care to residents and for working well within a team.

We also took home the runner-up trophy for the Technology Innovation Award for our collaboration with Teton, an AI-powered passive monitoring system now in use across five of our Kent homes. The technology uses intelligent sensors and AI to monitor movement, sleep patterns, respiratory changes and potential fall risks in real time, without the need for cameras or wearable devices. It allows our care teams to respond proactively to changes in residents’ health and wellbeing before situations escalate.

The annual awards, organised by Kent Integrated Care Alliance, are now in their 11th year and celebrate everything about care – championing the successes of care companies and recognising outstanding individual staff members.

Nicky Barnes, Chief Operating Officer of Hartford Care, said:

“We’re thrilled to be recognised in these two prestigious categories at the Kent Care Awards. Sharon thoroughly deserves her prize for Residential Care Worker of the Year – she delivers such kind and compassionate care and is an incredibly valued member of the Hawkhurst House team.

“The implementation of Teton within our five homes is a long-term investment into resident safety, quality of care and proactive health monitoring, so we’re very pleased to be acknowledged within the Technology Innovation award category.”

These awards are a wonderful reflection of the dedication shown by our colleagues across Kent and our commitment to innovation in care.
