The Hartford Care family

A true family ethos resonates throughout Hartford Care. While every home has its own character, we share the same values and work together to ensure the care of our residents, their families and our team members are at the heart of everything we do.

Working together

Our teams support one another, share knowledge and work together to create the best possible experience for residents and their families.

Working with families

Good care is built on a partnership.  We listen to residents and those closest to them, keeping families involved and making sure their knowledge, experiences and wishes help shape the care we provide.

Part of the community

Our homes are part of the communities around them.  We build relationships with local organisations, groups and services, creating opportunities for residents to stay connected and for our homes to be welcoming places for everyone.

The staff are very kind and caring. They are regularly in contact with me and do everything they can to improve my mother’s wellbeing and quality of life in the home. They host lovely family events regularly that provide entertainment and lovely food, which helps to make the home more homely.

Review of Hartford Care
by Daughter of Resident

My family are extremely impressed with the care provided for our mother. She is most contented than she has been since her Alzheimer’s disease was diagnosed. We are particularly pleased with the level of engagement all staff have with her and the amount of activities that she is encouraged to take part in. Tegfield House is clean, bright and cheerful, the gardens lovely and food very good. It is a great relief to know she is so well looked after.

Newland House has been excellent, a home from home for my mother. The staff are wonderful, always with a smile and always willing to help from the handyman to kitchen staff, carers and manager. They really care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our care plans are created once we have spent time discussing care requirements and preferences with our residents and their family members. We consult with all relevant parties, including medical professionals, to formulate a plan that ensures our residents receive the very best levels of care and enjoyment in our homes. Care plans are regularly reviewed, and any changes clearly communicated.

If a potential resident would like to attend a trial/taster at one of our homes, we would suggest that spending time with us as a day care resident would be the best way to experience how they might enjoy staying with us on a more permanent basis. Day care sessions are subject to availability, but we will do all we can to accommodate requests. For a more in-depth experience, a respite stay (for a few weeks) would provide more of an opportunity to experience the care we provide.

Our respite care is designed as a short-term care package and is usually booked for up to 8 weeks, depending on individual circumstances. Occasionally, respite care is required for several months and we would assess each case on its individual requirements, creating a care plan and respite solution that is appropriate. A respite stay can be a good way for prospective residents to transition into full-time care. Terms and Conditions apply.

Weekly fees vary depending on the home you’re looking at, the level of care that is needed and the type of room chosen.  So there isn’t a single price that applies across every Hartford Care home. Before any fees are discussed, we would need to complete an assessment of the resident, and then we would provide a personalised quote for weekly care home fees, so you know exactly what to expect before making a decision.

Care home fees at Hartford Care cover accommodation, all meals and refreshments, 24-hour care and support, the activities programme, laundry, and full use of the home’s facilities, including lounges and gardens. Because every resident’s needs are different, we always confirm exactly what’s included as part of your personalised care fee quote.

Yes, Hartford Care accepts residents funded in full or in part by their local authority, as well as those eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare funding. Our team can help explain the local authority funding process and support you in understanding what financial help may be available for care home fees.
