Life at Highfield Nursing Home

Every day is yours to enjoy
Life at Highfield is about having choice in how you spend your day. Join an activity, enjoy a meal with friends, spend time outdoors, head into Ryde or simply take some time for yourself. There’s plenty to enjoy, with support close by whenever you need it.
Activities shaped around you
Activities are planned around the people who live at Highfield. The team takes time to understand what residents enjoy and what suits them, so there is a good mix of structured activities and more relaxed ways to spend time. Some residents enjoy joining a regular activity, while others prefer to dip in and out or keep their day quieter.

Something for everyone
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. Our programme is shaped around residents’ interests and abilities, so everyone can join in, try something new or simply enjoy watching from the sidelines. What matters is that activities are enjoyable and meaningful to the people who live here.

Creative activities
Arts and crafts, baking and cooking give residents the chance to get creative and try something different in a supportive environment.

Music sessions
Enjoy live performances, singalongs and visits from entertainers with plenty of opportunities to join in or simply listen.

Interactive games
From puzzles and card games to themed quizzes, there are plenty of opportunities for friendly competition, conversation and shared laughs.

Days out
Trips to nearby parks, attractions and places of interest around Ryde and the wider island offer a change of scenery and the chance to enjoy the local area.

Fresh food, cooked with care
Meals at Highfield are cooked fresh each day in our own kitchen, with a choice of dishes at every sitting. Residents who need texture-modified or fortified diets are catered for using the same fresh ingredients as everyone else. Mealtimes are relaxed and unhurried, with staff on hand when help is needed and family members welcome to join. Residents can enjoy meals in the dining room or, if they prefer, in the comfort of their own room.
