A Glimpse Into the Past:

The time capsule was buried in 2014, and revealed an intriguing collection of memories and historic and community treasures. Inside were –

  • Local and national newspapers, including coverage of the Christening of Prince George.
  • Notes from a local nursery.
  • A booklet entitled “What we like about Stoke Bishop and how we think it might be ten years from now”, written by Year 1 and 2 students from Stoke Bishop Church of England Primary School.
  • A poem from Joan, a former resident.
  • A ‘Hartford Matters’ newsletter. During 2014, Hartford Care used to produce an internal newsletter that shared staff and resident stories, upcoming events and everything to know about Hartford Care.
  • Heartfelt messages from team members, many of whom still work at the home today.
